Join us for an event dedicated to examining Jewish life through an LGBTQI lens. Ritual Reconstructed is a collaborative, community and academic project working with film, performance, installation and storytelling to look at the ways in which Jewish people who identify as LGBTQI, engage in religious and community life. This event is a culmination of that project.

3:00-5:00pm Part 1: PERFORMANCE
We begin with a series of short performances and installations created by participants of the Reconstructed Ritual project.
5:30-6:30pm Part 2: DISCUSSION
A roundtable with Rabbi Danny Rich, Rabbi Elli Tikvah Sarah, Rabbi Mark Solomon, Rabbi Janet Darley discussing Queering Theology.
7:30- 10:00pm Part 3: SCREENING
The world premiere of the ‘Ritual Reconstructed documentary’ – a series of short films produced by The University of Portsmouth examining LGBTQI Jewish ritual in the UK. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the project team.
Ritual Reconstructed has been funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) through the Connected Communities stream and consists of a collaborative partnership between Liberal Judaism; Buckinghamshire New University the University of Portsmouth and the Centre for Trust, Peace and Social Relations at Coventry University.

Designed by Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands, JW3 houses a 270-seat auditorium, a 60-seat cinema, a demonstration kitchen, dance studios, classrooms, and Zest, JW3’s in-house restaurant and bar.
